Bunny apocalypse

Funny, yet horrible summer story.

As you know, Aaron and I have lived in little flats with no green space. Now we have a big ol' front and back garden (err, lawn). To keep the neighbors happy, we need to mow the lawn often, but that's something that neither of us have really done too much before.

Aaron decided to tackle it first (and every time since). When I saw him crouched on the grass staring at the ground with his head in his hands, I thought the mower had broken and walked over. It turns out that bunnies had a burrow in the grass, which he couldn't see because they, you know..burrow. After going over the hidden burrow with the mower, bunnies started hemorrhaging out of the ground, some even jumped up then fell over stunned, cartoon-like, with no obvious damage. The picture is of Aaron trying to place one bunny in a box to bring to the rescue center. Unfortunately, it didn't make it, which made a girl called Rain who works at the center, cry...a lot.

I never would have thought that we were so unbelievably unprepared to do even a simple thing like mowing the lawn.

But, at the time, the situation was so hideous and Aaron's expression so horrified that I couldn't stand, nor breathe, through my laughter.

Just point me in the direction of hell.

(And yup, Aaron is that absurdly muscly. He looks photoshoped.)

City of Brotherly Love

Long time, no post.

Long story short: I got through my viva, got a job, worked another job while waiting for the job to start, moved country, lived with in-laws, bought car, bought house and have been working like mad in Aaron's hometown.

Now, I miss home but don't know quite where that is...

Anyway, I was poking around the web, trying to find information about the WFIL, American Bandstand and the link to Peter Pan collars for a pop culture class that I'm teaching. Of course (well, of course if you know my browsing habits, which borrow from the Ernie School of association) I ended up looking for the Widner building and then took a virtual walk down the street to find this:

Some actual love going on in the City of Brotherly Love. I'm sure that loads of people have spotted this one from Googlemaps before, but I thought it was great, so here it is.
